ST.OLAF CHURCH, BEAR LAKE, ON

On our little trip yesterday we came through Bear Lake. At this time of year it is very quiet but I can imagine the Summer is busy with cottagers. The real interesting building in this community  is this old church, which was built in 1876. The light was just right and with the old weathered fence and church offered just the right mix for a very romantic black and white image.

Bear Lake is located west of Sprucedale on Hwy 518, which goes from Hwy 11 S west to Parry Sound.

Photographing churches opens up a whole new world of possibilities. Really like your scene here, Mike.

Nice Shot
Give me a shout and I can arrange for you to take some pics inside the church. This is one of the oldest, if not the oldest, churches in the Almaguin Highlands region. I have pics of it before they put the siding on. And the bell still works!
