SERVICING ONTARIO, FIELD

It has been a few years since I visited Field, a small community not far from Sturgeon Falls. It saddens nme to see the slow deterioration of many small towns here in northern Ontario. But surprisingly many of these same communities are very resilient and I have noticed new businesses opening up and are doing quite well.

Love photos of old gas stations. So sad to see them disappearing. I would love to see a place like this turned into a 50s style diner.

Always liked Field. Has a lot of character, as is brought out in your present photo of the once thriving gas station on the curve just before the bridge. Pass through the town even today on my way to Sudbury.
